BREATHWORK EXPERIENCE: Relational Pain Release

November 4 @ 6:00 pm 9:00 pm

$35.00 / person

Love Strong is hosting a deep breathwork session focused on releasing pain found in relationships. This is an opportunity to surrender relational pain caused or brought on by another person in the form of:

  • Loss
  • Wounds
  • Grief
  • Burdens
  • Sorrow
  • Anxiety

If you’ve never done a high intensity breathwork session, you’ll likely have a lot of questions about what’s in store. This process uses only the gifts God has given us. We’ll use a combination of breath, mindfulness, and music to bridge the gaps between body, heart, and mind. We’ve found when harmonizing these elements, we’re given an opportunity to release pain and discover greater resilience. It’s about spiritual and emotional empowerment.

The most simple way to put it: you’ll be guided through intense breathing while immersed in emotive music, that often yields profound healing and personal insight.

What Is Deep Breathwork?

There are many types and styles of breathwork. This type is a self-exploration technique that combines accelerated breathing, immersive music, and mindfulness to bring about different states of consciousness and feeling. During a session, you will lie down and breathe rapidly and deeply. This intensity of breathing, along with the music and mindfulness, helps to release emotions and promote deep healing and transformation.

The key to understanding what this is exists in the name “Breath” and “Work”. This is work using your breath to open up a unique connection within yourself.

*This is not magic nor a revival. It is innate biological function to release stress and trauma built up over time. It’s amazing what our bodies can do!

**This is not a replacement for traditional mental health therapy. It is best suited for those already engaged in therapy looking for supplemental ways to move through trauma or negative thoughts/feelings.

deep breathing has been used to treat a wide range of conditions, including:

  • depression
  • stress
  • addiction
  • post-traumatic stress disorder
  • migraine headaches
  • chronic pain
  • avoidance behaviors
  • asthma
  • premenstrual tension

Confidentiality

Confidentiality is important in these sessions so that all participants feel safe to share their experiences fully during the breathing session. In order to be allowed to participate in one of our events, you must agree to not discuss any other participant’s experience or that another person shares in a way in which that participant can in any way be identified. No audio or video recordings of the experience is permitted.

The Research

Research around breathwork is expanding. It points to positive outcomes for increased self-awareness and feelings of self-worth, especially when paired with traditional therapy practices.

  • A 1996 study combined the Holotropic Breathing® (a similar type of breathwork practice) technique with psychotherapy over six months. People who participated in the breathwork and therapy significantly reduced death anxiety and increased self-esteem compared to those who only had therapy.
  • A report from 2013 documented the results of 11,000 people over 12 years who participated in Holotropic Breathing® sessions. The results suggest that it can be used to treat a wide range of psychological and existential life issues. Many people reported significant benefits related to emotional catharsis and internal spiritual exploration. No adverse reactions were reported. This makes it a low-risk therapy.
  • A 2015 study found that Holotropic Breathing® can bring about higher levels of self-awareness. It may help to positively make changes in temperament and development of character. People who were more experienced with the technique reported less tendency to be needy, domineering, and hostile.

This is for you if:

  • You are an Adult (18+)
  • You are open to new & challenging experiences
  • You are open to including God & Christ as part of the process (not in an overbearing way)
  • You have something you feel ready (or willing to try) to let go of

This is not for you:

Talk to your doctor before practicing this type of breathing if you have:

  • Cardiovascular disease
  • Heart attacks, high blood pressure, and angina
  • Glaucoma or retinal detachment
  • Recent injury or surgery
  • Any condition that requires you to take medication
  • Panic attacks or psychosis
  • Seizures
  • Severe mental illness
  • Aneurysms (or family history)
  • You are pregnant or are breastfeeding

We understand if you need to check out at any point. However, if it does feel right for you to join us, we encourage you to commit wholly to the process and see it through. For many people, the turning point for them was deciding to stick with it right when they wanted to be done.

If you do decide to join us, all you need to do is breath and let your body do the rest!

The Theme: Relational Pain Release

The theme for the evening is all about letting go of and healing from pain brought on by others. We’ve carefully curated a playlist of recorded music to play alongside the breathwork session. The music will be louder to create a more immersive experience (we’ll have earplugs if you’d like to lower the volume). The style of music includes an array of genres as well as lyrical and instrumental music. We’re including some live instrumentation and music as well.

The music is intended to provide a certain type of energy that begins heavier and moves to a lighter feeling. We encourage you to not focus so much on the words or style, as much as the energy and the areas of your relationships your invited to explore.

The Setting

We will be inside a small private warehouse where we’ll have floor space for each guest. There will be up to 32 guest and a handful of facilitators/supporters). During the session, we’ll have dim lighting. We have onsite parking and one bathroom. This event is Coed.
